Actress Mandy Moore is calling out Los Angeles County officials for what she describes as excessive bureaucracy preventing fire victims from rebuilding their homes.
Moore, whose Altadena residence was partially destroyed in January’s devastating wildfires, expressed outrage over the county’s permitting process. She described it as unnecessarily complex and slow, claiming the system is making recovery nearly impossible for those affected.
Despite widespread destruction, Moore pointed out that only a handful of permits have been issued in her area, leaving many families in limbo months after the fires. She added that even with access to insurance and contractors, the red tape continues to block progress.
Her public criticism draws attention to the mounting frustrations among residents who are eager to restore their lives but remain stuck in regulatory gridlock. Moore is urging county leaders to overhaul the process and prioritize getting displaced families back into their homes.
