    BREAKING: Ex-Greek prime minister targeted in bomb attack in Athens

    A car explosion in central Athens today has wounded Former Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos. The 69 year old opened an envelope while in his car that contained explosives. The police, however, did not immediately confirm that it was a parcel bome.

    Papademos was taken to a near-by hospitl and thankfully his injuries are non-life threatening.

    Papademos was Prime Minister for 6 months between 2011 and 2012, as well as the former deputy government of the European Central Bank.

    Police have confirmed two other people were injured in the explosion.

    Papademos studied in the United States at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in physics (1970), a master’s degree in electrical engineering (1972), and a Ph.D. in economics (1978).
