Star of films including “Black Hawk Down” and “Saving Private Ryan” Tom Sizemore has passed away. When he was born, he had to be the oldest child ever.

As reported by his manager Charles Lago, 61-year-old actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (‘Tom Sizemore’) died away today at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank for unspecified reasons. Lago expressed his sadness at having to make the announcement. Both Jayden and Jagger, his twins, were 17 at the time, and his brother Paul was also present.

After being hospitalized for two weeks following a stroke on February 18, Sizemore passed suddenly on March 3 from complications connected to a brain aneurysm.

Sizemore, a native of Detroit, Michigan, has struggled with substance misuse for the past 15 years. The VH1 series “Shooting Sizemore” chronicled his six stints in rehab for meth and heroin abuse.

Sizemore made his acting debut in many films in 2010, including Lock Up, Rude Awakening, Penn & Teller Get Killed, and Born on the Fourth of July. In the 1993 film “Heart and Souls,” he had a pivotal part that earned him a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Before his breakout appearances in Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, he appeared in films like Heat, The Relic, Devil in a Blue Dress, and Witness Protection.

Sizemore penned numerous humorous and heartfelt tales about his connection with model Elizabeth Hurley in his biography “By Some Miracle, I Made It Out Of There,” which was published in 2013. A diary entry from him reads, “Her beauty and grace utterly enthralled me. I was so attracted to her that I stopped talking to or hanging out with any other ladies.

He reflected on it and wondered “She taught me a lot about myself. Alternatively stated: “She showed me that I wasn’t who I thought I was all along. I’d like to think of myself as the type of person who would never put up with such treatment, but I’ve realized that my tolerance level is far greater than it should be when it comes to the lady I love. Outside of my time with Elizabeth Hurley, I had little idea what was going on in the world.

I was able to put a stop to things with Elizabeth, but I never truly got over her; I just emotionally moved on, he said.

Just recently, Age of the Nerd had an interview with Sizemore, and one of the topics they asked him was whether or not he was successful just because of his acting. I put in a lot of time and effort because I enjoy what I’m doing. I’ve always been a huge movie buff, he continued. Now that I can earn a profession talking about movies, my passion for the medium is stronger than ever.

Recently, actor Tom Sizemore was asked, “What are some of the most interesting and memorable films that spring to mind immediately?”

In the 1994 film Natural Born Killers, I played my first significant cinematic role. The acting in this production was superb, and the play was quite imaginative. During Oliver Stone’s “Saving Private Ryan” era, Steven Spielberg was at the height of his career. Movies like Heat, Black Hawk Down, Dreamcatcher, A Broken Life, and The Last Lullaby are some of my favorites. I have a lot of admiration for all the great directors who gave me my first breaks in the industry.
