An actor named Rainn Wilson has claimed that Christians are stereotyped in Hollywood.
Former “The Office” star Jeremy Piven had this to say about the penultimate “The Last of Us” episode on HBO Max. Episode 8’s title, “When We Are in Need,” refers to a scene in which Ellie, the show’s protagonist, encounters a group of survivors headed by a cannibal who continues repeating the Bible.
My opinion is that Hollywood is biased toward Christians.
According to Wilson’s tweet, “I knew he was going to be a nasty awful man the moment David in ‘The Last of Us’ started reading from the Bible. Is it possible for a preacher who reads the Bible to preach with love and kindness on television?
The program “The Last of Us” is set in a post-apocalyptic future. It was inspired by a video game of the same name. Ellie kills David (Scott Shepherd) in self-defense after he tries to rape her after episode 8.
The majority of Wilson’s Twitter followers share his viewpoint.
One of the most tired and overused story tactics in film and television is attacking Christians. For LIBRE Initiative President Daniel Garza, this pervasive attitude is about more than just hating a whole group of people; it’s an attempt to damage faith and make atheists appear to be the only ones with genuine intentions.
“Christians are always the evil characters in programs these days,” said someone another.
Someone on social media noticed that David was not a pastor in The Last of Us, even though the show has maintained quite loyal to the original game in many aspects.
“I knew the pastor was going to be awful AS SOON AS he started reading from the Bible,” one individual remarked. It occurred to me, “That person is playing David, the terrifying cannibal from the computer game.” Then David took his turn. Shocked. Surprised. I’ve never seen something like it before. He wasn’t a priest in the game.
Wilson’s admirers would have been astonished to hear him bring up the actor’s liberal politics, especially on Twitter.
The 57-year-old celebrity made headlines in November by changing his Instagram handle to “Rainfall Hot Wave Extreme Winter Wilson” to call attention to the issue of global warming.
“I’ve changed my name on Twitter, Instagram, and even my nice writing paper,” the actor told The Daily Wire. The melting Arctic is releasing millions of liters of water every second, yet the phenomenon remains labelless.
To get the attention of international leaders and powerful individuals, he remarked, “I changed my name.”
