Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis is currently traveling the country to express his gratitude to police personnel in person.

According to rumors, while in New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago, DeSantis will address law enforcement and talk about his state of Florida’s triumphs.

Staten Island was the site of what the president of the New York City Detectives’ Endowment Association called “a law enforcement rally to send a message back to some of our elected officials that the laws that they have enacted in the state of New York are not working — specifically the bail reform laws” on Monday. As the saying goes, “it’s gone too far to the left” in recent years.

In Staten Island, we are glad to support our police enforcement,” said Republican Party chairman Michael Tannousis. It brings me tremendous satisfaction to see the local police force recognized and appreciated.

The crime rate in Florida fell by 8 percent between December 31, 2021, and December 31, 2022, according to data from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. This makes 2022 the safest year in Florida’s history, which spans almost fifty years.

DeSantis’ “Framework for Freedom Budget” includes the following measures that will result in pay hikes for several sorts of law enforcement personnel:

A budget increase of $107.2 million has been proposed for the Federal Prisons Corporation (FDC) to pay a minimum wage of $23 per hour to certain employees.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) will get a $1.8 million budget boost to pay for the addition of 4,000 more Special Agents and Law Enforcement Officers.

All sworn law enforcement officers at FDLE, DLA, State Attorneys, and State Courts will get special pay raises based on wage ranges ($6.8 million); and

Sworn law enforcement officers at FDLE, DLA, State Attorneys, and SCS will get a wage increase based on their length of service, costing the government around $8.5 million.

Spending an additional $30 million on incentives to recruit more police officers around the state. A $5,000 bonus awaits those police recruits who successfully finish the course.

Florida’s example of effective leadership during our nation’s challenges has served as a rebuke to the nation’s privileged few. We the people are not powerless in the face of these elites, DeSantis says, citing Florida as evidence.
