After polling Twitter users on Saturday, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, restored former president Donald Trump’s account.
Musk put up a poll to gauge public opinion asking if he should reactivate the former president’s Twitter account. The survey had over 15 million takers.
The people have spoken,” to paraphrase. Trump’s presidency will be reinstated. Musk tweeted late on Saturday, “Vox Populi, Vox Dei.”
Final results showed 51.8% in favor and 48.2% opposed.
Trump’s old tweets have been restored, but he no longer follows anyone. His account was restored, and within an hour, he had gained a million new followers, all of whom he must now win back.
Early Saturday morning, as Musk’s poll was going live, Trump weighed in, saying he was OK with the billionaire’s purchase of Twitter but didn’t plan to use it again.
Video interview with the Republican Jewish Coalition, he said, “Truth Social has been very, very powerful, really very strong, and I’ll be remaining there.” It has been heard, however, that many people wish for us to return to Twitter. I need help seeing it or comprehending its justification.
