Judge Juan Merchan of the New York Supreme Court told former President Trump not to post on social media because it could cause trouble in the country. Merchan will decide on Trump’s trial, which will be the first of its kind.
Trump updated his Truth Social account no matter what.
“Alvin Bragg shut down New York City, brought in 38,000 NYPD officers, and will spend an estimated $200,000,000 of NYC money, all for a perfectly legal $130,000 non-disclosure deal. On social media, the former president bragged, “On top of the $500,000 already awarded, the 9th Circuit Court just awarded me $122,000 from Stormy ‘Horseface’ Daniels. This is on top of the $500,000 already awarded.”
The Associated Press reported that Trump got the warning from Merchan after turning himself in to police in New York City on Tuesday afternoon. He was facing 34 felony charges of falsifying business records related to alleged hush money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election.
Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges in front of Merchan, who told him not to talk about the fact that he was the first former president to be charged with a crime or the people involved in public.
According to Axios, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg was shown with a picture of Trump holding a baseball bat, and Conroy mentioned a tweet in which the former president warned “death and destruction” over the case.
Conroy said that Trump’s tweets make him worry about the “relative safety of jurors and witnesses and the process.”
The story says that “prosecutors asked for a protective order that stops Trump from sharing discovery materials on social media or with third parties” until a deal is made. The sides are getting close to agreeing on how to word the order.
“He was angry and felt wronged,” his lawyer, Todd Blanche, said, referring to the fact that the former president was running for reelection in 2024 and to his right to free speech.
In the 24 hours before he turned himself in, former President Trump made several comments about the case on his Truth Social account.
The president said that he would go to the Lower Manhattan courts on Tuesday. Wow, they are going to PICK ME UP! Everything looks so IMPOSSIBLE. People can’t believe this is going on in the United States. MAGA!”
People have said that the case is about politics because Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has a reputation for being soft on major crimes.
In a series of tweets sent out soon after Yahoo News’s Chief Investigative Correspondent Michael Isikoff reported that Trump would be arrested on 34 criminal charges of falsifying business records, the former president accused Bragg of sharing the indictment’s contents.
“Wow! District Attorney Bragg just broke the law by leaking a full and thorough outline of the pathetic charges against me. I know someone in common with the writer, which is a shame. Trump said, “It’s clear that he needs to be charged right away.” If he really wants to fix his reputation, he should do the right thing and, as District Attorney, INDICT HIMSELF. His Trump-hating wife must be so happy for him, because he’s going to be a judge forever.
In his next tweet, Trump said that D.A. Bragg had broken the law by letting everyone know about all 33 charges. Since he gave them to the Grand Jury a few days ago, there have been no changes or new facts. Nothing Trump did was wrong. Holy crap, what a MESS. Bragg needs to leave right away!
On Tuesday, Bragg said that Trump and his team used a “catch and kill” plan to find, buy, and hide damaging information about him in order to improve his chances of being elected president in 2016.
Bragg’s news release says that Manhattan has the most important business market in the country. We can’t let New York companies lie on papers to hide their bad behavior.
Bragg says that the path of money and lies shows a trend of breaking one of New York’s most important business rules.
After that, he said, “Today, we honor our solemn duty to make sure that everyone is treated the same by the law,” which is something this office has done many times before.
The grand jury charge against former President Donald Trump was made public while he was being held in a Manhattan court on Tuesday afternoon.
Trump has said he is not guilty.
In a conversation with The Associated Press, Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said that Trump “is strong and ready to go.”
Tacopina may have said on TV before that Trump won’t plead guilty to less serious charges and that he doesn’t think the case will go to trial.
Authorities say that Trump’s next court date will be on December 4.
Trump also said on Truth Social that he will talk tonight at Mar-a-Lago at 8:15 p.m., right after he leaves the courts in lower Manhattan.
Trump said that the hearing surprised a lot of people because there were no “surprises” and, therefore, no case. “There is no case here,” say almost all lawyers.
“Nothing wrong was done!”
