An 11-page letter detailed by President Trump’s lawyer states that an upcoming book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” contains false statements about the President that “give rise to claims for libel” potentially resulting in “substantial monetary damages and punitive damages.”

“Mr. Trump hereby demands that you immediately cease and desist from any further publication, release or dissemination of the book, the article, or any excerpts or summaries of either of them, to any person or entity, and that you issue a full and complete retraction and apology to my client as to all statements made about him in the book and article that lack competent evidentiary support,” the letter said.

The book, due to be released next week, allegedly quotes Steve Bannon, former White House chief strategist, claiming that Bannon was quoted saying that Donald Trump Jr is “treasonous” and “unpatriotic” for meeting with Russians during the 2016 campaign and that Ivanka Trump was “dumb as a brick.”

When Bannon was on the ousts, the POTUS went to Twitter, saying “Steve had the honor of working in the White House & serving the country,” Donald Trump Jr. wrote on Twitter. “Unfortunately, he squandered that privilege & turned that opportunity into a nightmare of backstabbing, harassing, leaking, lying & undermining the President. Steve is not a strategist, he is an opportunist.”

But they’ve seemed to reconcile sense.

During a random meeting with Roger ailes, at Trump Tower, just a day after the election, Ailes told Donald Trump:

“You need a son of a b*tch as your chief of staff,” Ailes purportedly told Trump. “And you need a son of a bitch who knows Washington. You’ll want to be your own son of a b*tch, but you don’t know Washington.”

He also added that Republican House Speaker John Boehner should be Chief of Staff.

Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., fired back at the accusations, tweeting: “More lies, go back and look, Boehner and #potus spent time together well before the election. Just another pathetic attempt to smear @realDonaldTrump #fakenews.”

We’ll see how this unfolds but for now… I’m still on Team Trump.
