On ESPN, Stephen A. Smith decided to dive a bit into VP Pence’s walkout of the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers game over the weekend, saying that President Trump is, essentially, winning the issue.
“The president has successfully gone about the business of hijacking the issue,” Smith noted
“In the end what it really really comes down to is the president has successfully hijacked this issue. He’s turned it into an issue about patriotism and beyond, he’s catering to his base in the process and the biggest thing he’s doing is he’s pulling it all off hiding behind these issues when, in my opinion, his real agenda is going after an NFL community that didn’t let him in that ‘good ole boys club,’” Smith said.
“He is the one that’s winning because he’s turned this into something that the players didn’t intend to. So they’re going to have to find a different mechanism to have their voices heard because Trump has won this round.”
On the issue, Pence said: “I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.”
Of course he’s winning, he’s right! As I’ve stated before, it is absolutely their right to protest but it’s their strategy, the manner in which they’re doing it, that has us all concerned. If you love your country, you don’t do that! The flag is a symbol not just to so many of us patriots but it just is.
As in our McCain on The View report, Behar states that soldiers died so they could protest… no sh*t! That’s what the flag represents. If you want to protest, then do so publicly, do it on social media, attend some of the real peaceful protests.
Sure what they’re doing is getting them noticed but it’s not getting the message they really want to send across… and that’s why Trump is winning.
