Tensions flared during Friday’s game between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream when Caitlin Clark and Rhyne Howard got into a heated exchange late in the first quarter.
The confrontation began after Howard was called for a foul while defending Clark. Words were exchanged, and Clark was seen mouthing “I’m not scared of you” as players moved in to break up the moment before it escalated further.
Despite the intense scene, no technical fouls were issued, and play continued. The game ended with the Fever taking a narrow 81–76 win, avenging a recent loss to the Dream earlier in the week.
Clark had a quiet night statistically, scoring 11 points and going 0-for-5 from three-point range — the first time she has gone without a three-pointer in a game since 2022. Natasha Howard stepped up for the Fever with 26 points, helping seal the victory.
This marks the second on-court clash for Clark in three games, following a similar incident with Chicago’s Angel Reese in the season opener. The Fever will next face the New York Liberty at Barclays Center as they push through their early-season schedule.
