One host of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg, sat in total shock in the wake of her guest co-host Lindsey Granger claiming that President Joe Biden could just end the Senate filibuster by himself via the use of an executive order.
This back and forth sprung up in the middle of the Wednesday broadcast of ABC’s well-known midday talk show, as the co-hosts went on to talk about the fallout from the never before seen leak of an early opinion draft, that hit the public on Monday, that seemed to indicate that the Supreme Court could be taking steps to get ready to overturn the landmark abortion ruling Roe v. Wade.
This conversation started when the hosts started to talk about the leak and the question of who would benefit most from the information being forced into the public eye to be debated, and Granger argued that it was working to distract the American public from the “messaging problem” being exhibited by President Biden.
“We just talked about how Biden has a messaging problem and he’s failing miserably in the midterms,” stated Granger, going on to add that she thought that Biden started his downhill slide with the horribly handled pullout of Afghanistan.
“People loved him right before that, and it started to go downhill,” she claimed. “Biden is long on promises and short on delivery. Imagine you go to a restaurant, and they tout the best thing on the menu, and you order it and they say it’s sold out. That’s what Biden is doing for a lot of people, especially for black people.”
“Do you think Biden did it?” questioned Goldberg.
“No, Biden can use his executive orders, he can use different powers, and that’s the same thing with this abortion issue, because he can do anything like end the filibuster,” claimed Granger before going on to make the argument that Biden would not put an end to the Filibuster on his own due to knowing that it could end up hurting his fellow Democrats as well.
“Why doesn’t Biden want to end the filibuster in order to push this through?” she posited, before quickly answering their own question: “Because Biden knows the filibuster has been used by Democrats 300 times over the last six years. Biden knows that Chuck Schumer is one of the people who used the filibuster the most, and he doesn’t want to lose his election seat in the midterms and not have anything to run on. A lot of people –”
“Can he end the filibuster by himself?” questioned co-host Sunny Hostin, seemingly very confused.
“He can sign an executive order to end the filibuster. He actually can,” Granger stated.
“Oh,” Hostin still seemed quite unsure before the camera quickly moved over to Goldberg, who was very clearly not believing or in agreement with Granger’s arguments.

At this point, the show quickly jumped to commercial, but as soon as the camera came back on it seems that Granger was forced to state a correction to her comments.
“I want to clarify that Biden can’t single handedly executive order to end the filibuster, but what he can do is rally everybody in the Senate and rally everybody who supports him to get in line and make Kamala be the tie-breaking vote, and say, okay, the filibuster is now not a thing,” she corrected. “He doesn’t want to do that because it will affect them down the line in a negative way since they used it 300 times.”
