The latest thing that has got the Left’s panties in a bunch is a dud of a bombshell that President Trump’s National Security Advisors had told him “do not congratulate”. It’s no surprise that between Russia’s dubious past and well-documented election meddling that their recent election was less than honest.
So, what could the point of that little footnote be? Maybe an attempt to not fan the flames of the witch hunt? A genuine reminder that there are countries with actual problems with election tampering? Either way, the mainstream media has ran with it, creating the narrative that President Trump is like a misbehaving child, in need of a reminder that we are in public.
The real issue and the one they are overlooking is the questionable legality of these leaks. This memo and the others like it, such as the transcripts of phone calls between President Trump and foreign leaders serve no purpose other than to undermine his legitimacy and weaken our stance in the eyes of our real enemies.
“The Fake News Media is crazed because they wanted me to excoriate him. They are wrong!” President Trump tweeted Wednesday afternoon. “Getting along with Russia (and others) is a good thing, not a bad thing …
They can help solve problems with North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, ISIS, Iran and even the coming Arms Race.”
The source of the leak will be fairly easy to track down. Only a few people are said to have had access to the document in question and even fewer printed it out. It was reported that Chief of staff, John Kelly, was “frustrated and deeply disappointed” by the leak.
All this comes on the heels of reports that President Trump is considering shaking up his cabinet and inner circle. This could be the final straw that is needed for the President to feel comfortable pulling the trigger on that decision.
Great teams are built over time, finding what works and removing what doesn’t. President Trump is all about winning and won’t tolerate losers on his team. The fact that he is considering shaking things up is good, that’s what we elected him for.
