One of the terrorists behind the Manchester Arena bombing has violently assaulted three prison officers in a brutal attack inside a high-security facility, using scalding cooking oil and improvised weapons.
According to prison officials, the inmate launched the assault without warning, throwing boiling oil over staff members before attempting to stab them with makeshift blades fashioned from everyday items. The attack took place in the prison kitchen area, where the inmate had been assigned duties under supervision.
All three officers sustained injuries, with one reportedly hospitalized for burns. The incident has sparked renewed concern over prison security protocols and the supervision of high-risk inmates, particularly those convicted of terrorism-related offenses.
Authorities have confirmed that the attacker is being moved to solitary confinement and will face additional charges. An internal investigation has been launched to determine how the inmate obtained access to materials used in the assault and whether procedural failures contributed to the breach.
The violent episode has intensified calls for tighter controls and increased staff protection in facilities housing convicted extremists, especially in the wake of past warnings about radicalization and organized violence within the prison system.
