Beer giant Anheuser-Busch’s value has dropped by more than $5 billion since the company said it would work with Dylan Mulvaney, a controversial transgender social media star who is also a man.
Since March 31, the shares of the company that owns Bud Light have dropped by more than 4%, bringing the company’s market value down from $132.38 billion to $127.13 billion as of Wednesday.
Wednesday, shares of Anheuser-Busch lost more than 1.5% of their value.
Mulvaney, a transgender celebrity who is 26 years old, has more than 10 million fans on social media. Conservatives are upset with the company because it agreed to work with Mulvaney.
Tuesday, Mulvaney told her enemies that they were bullying her because she was a “easy target.”
Mulvaney said on the show “Onward with Rosie O’Donnell” that trolls lie about her support for transgender people in order to attack her.
Here’s what makes me think I’m so unique: “I’m an easy target because I’m so new to this,” Mulvaney said. I think it would be much harder to catch a trans woman who has been involved in the community for 20 years. If I had to guess, I would say they think I have a chance… But why do they act this way?
Everything I say is meant to be good, but because these people don’t understand me, it’s always taken the wrong way and used against me. It’s a way for me to talk to people who might not fully understand me. on to make someone smile or to make a child feel like he or she is important.
Mulvaney has a marketing deal with Bud Light, so the company made special cans with her picture on them to give to fans.
Because of the Mulvaney advertising deal, Kid Rock blew up a lot of Bud Light.
In response to the criticism, a Budweiser dealer in Missouri got death threats and had to cancel a public event with the brand’s famous Clydesdale horses.
The Post reported on Tuesday that people in the business world think the feud will get worse and could lead to a large-scale boycott of Anheuser-Busch products.
Sponsorship deals with companies like Nike and Kate Spade are said to have made Mulvaney more than $1 million.
Megyn Kelly said that Mulvaney’s relationship with Nike was bad because he didn’t have breasts.
“Nike is now sponsoring Dylan Mulvaney for an f-king sports bra,” Kelly joked on Tuesday’s show of “The Megyn Kelly Show” on SiriusXM.
“Sorry, but Dylan doesn’t have any breasts.”
Dylan has changed because of the hormones he has been taking. Whatever is going on up there, it isn’t the growth of breasts.
Kelly says, “Dylan doesn’t need any kind of bra, let alone a sports bra.”
Bud Light and Nike have both stood up for Mulvaney in public when he has been criticized.
