There’s no doubt some high and low points to this fast-paced information world we live in. We can connect with family members as well as long as friends but there is no doubt a darker side to having information instantly accessed at the press of a button.
But more than that, there’s a lot of backend, mind-manipulating, work that goes into social media networks to keep you glued and addicted. And yes, I’m fully aware that there’s a high chance you’re reading this from a link from a social media site.
But that’s not the point… like I said before, there are high points for social media… there are. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing if used properly and in moderation. Young people are the worst about moderation.
In this video, we see higher-ups from certain social media giants flat out telling you that a lot of psychological work gets put into these sites. They want you to become addicted and further, they want to learn EVERYTHING about you but not for some nefarious cause… no… they want to sell your data.
Here, Anonymous has composed a video of these higher-ups in interviews telling you EXACTLY how and why these giants want you glued to them.
If you don’t think you’re addicted… screw it, put your phone down, close your laptop, for a full 24 hours then come back here and tell me what the first thing you did as soon as your time was up?
I’m personally all over social media… don’t get me wrong. I’m probably addicted, too. But I do have long stretches of not bothering with it, either. A lot of the initial thrill has left me and now it’s just as boring as anything else at times.
So what do you think? Are you an addict?
