In the wake of Communist China issuing threats against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over her visit to Taiwan, claiming that such a visit would end up having a “severe impact on the political foundation of China-U.S. relations,” Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), a trenchant critic of China, fully opened fire with his criticisms.
“The Chinese Communist Party can go straight to hell,” Crenshaw exclaimed. “You don’t tell us when our elected representatives can visit other countries, as they always have, since our nation’s inception. No amount of toddler-esque saber rattling will change that.”

After just a few short minutes of Pelosi’s arrival, Beijing shouted their plans for live-fire military exercises in locations near the island of Taiwan. Just before Pelosi’s arrival in Taiwan, groups of Chinese warplanes infringed upon the airspace of the area along the border of the Taiwan Strait.
The foreign ministry of China had officially acknowledged that it issued a protest to the United States, issuing threats that a visit would “seriously infringes upon China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
The defense ministry of China also stated that it would send out “targeted military operations,” stated a Tuesday report from France 24, stating further, “The Chinese military announced joint air and sea drills near Taiwan starting on Tuesday night and test launch of conventional missiles in the sea east of Taiwan, with Chinese state news agency Xinhua describing live-fire drills and other exercises around Taiwan from Thursday to Sunday.”
Just this past Thursday, as expressed by the Chinese Embassy set up in Washington, Chinese leader Xi Jinping threatened the U.S. while in talks with President Joe Biden concerning America’s ties to Taiwan. “Those who play with fire will perish by it. It is hoped that the U.S. will be clear-eyed about this,” stated the Chinses politician while speaking from a release from Xi.
Back in May of 2020, a report popped up from a Communist Chinese state media outlet claiming that Communist China was targeting various GOP politicians, which included Crenshaw, who had been someone who had harshly criticized the Chinese government for its actions about the Coronavirus. Crenshaw issued a response via a heavily defiant social media post, snapping, “So apparently I’m on the Chinese government’s radar now. Good. Bring it.”

Then in April of 2020, at the start of the COVID pandemic, Crenshaw left no wiggle room with his statements, stating of China, “They allowed this virus to spread. They knew it would spread; they spread false talking points like it won’t spread from human to human contact. They didn’t let scientists in to investigate. They actually disappeared doctors who tried to blow the whistle. The number of deaths and infections they hid.”
