A “flabbergasted and angry” member of the council for the District of Columbia was overly angry in the wake of Muriel Bowser, the Democrat mayor of Washington, D.C., announcing that the nation’s capital would be dropping all of its mandates about masks and vaccine requirements for the vast majority of the indoor spaces across the city. Instead of just following the left-wing norm and whining about it on Twitter, Brianne Nadeau put in work to get a special hearing called up in order to vote on if they should go along with that the mayor announced or if they should re-implement both the mask and vaccine mandates. The hearing is slated to take place this Friday and could have far more support than expected if the social media postings of the other elected officials in the area are to be believed.
It was recently reported that Bowser stated, “Beginning February 15, 2022, indoor venues will no longer be required to verify that patrons are vaccinated.”
“Businesses may choose to keep vaccination requirements in place,” she stated. The reason behind the changes made in the COVID-19 precautions seems to stem from a drop in COVID-19 cases in the wake of the Omicron wave of the virus washing over the country over the past few weeks.
“COVID-19 cases have dropped by more than 90%, and there has been a 95% reduction in hospitalizations since the height of Omicron,” stated Bowser as part of a press conference.
Despite this, Nadeau seems to think that the virus is still an extreme threat, so much of a threat that she stated that she was so “F-ing mad” at the D.C. Mayor.
“As a CM, and a parent of 2 kids under 5, I am flabbergasted and angry. Why would we give up on vaccines when we have come this far? Why are we not protecting the workers in these industries? Why are we telling parents we don’t care if they participate in society? I’m so F-ing mad”

She did not stop there, oh no, “And ANOTHER THING,” she tweeted out. “This will have a chilling impact on businesses. People who were going out and eating indoors BECAUSE of the mandate will not do that anymore. So if this was supposed to be a pro-business thing, y’all messed up. #$%#!”

As was mentioned, businesses and other outdoor areas will still hold the option of requiring the use of masks or implementing a vaccine mandate if they so choose, but that did not stop Nadeau from overreacting by bringing forth a bill that would repeal the choice from Bowser. The bill was also carried on by Phil Mendelson, D.C. Council Chairman.
“@ChmnMendelson scheduled a special legislative meeting this Friday to vote on @BrianneKNadeau’s bill to reinstate DC’s vaccine mandate. Needs nine votes to pass, would extend the mandate for 90 days beyond Feb. 15. Meeting starts at 10 am,” stated Mitch Ryals with The Washington City Paper in a tweet sent out this past Wednesday.

Nadeau was quite happy with this turn of events, stating, “I want to thank the Chairman for agreeing to call a special legislative meeting this Friday for consideration of this critical measure.”
