It appears that Democrats are not only out of step with Americans, they are out of step with most of the world. Yet at the same time, they criticize President Trump’s meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Other countries are praising him and now, two Norwegian politicians have nominated our president for the Nobel Peace Prize. Make no mistake, liberals realize how truly remarkable the summit was and that’s what frightens them. They have to somehow convince the American people that getting North Korea to give up nukes is a bad thing, otherwise, they are going to have a miserable November.
The lawmakers told their local media that Trump has “taken a huge and important step in the direction of the disarmament, peace and reconciliation between North and South Korea.” The nomination comes after Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway took a swipe at former President Barack Obama’s own Nobel Peace Prize saying “look, the last president was handed Nobel Peace Prize. This president is actually going to earn it.”
The Nobel committee notes that one of the categories of people eligible to nominate individuals are “Members of national assemblies and national governments (cabinet members/ministers) of sovereign states as well as current heads of states.” Currently, there are “330 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2018 out of which 216 are individuals and 114 are organizations.”
This has created a very awkward situation for the Nobel Committee. There is no way they want to award this honor to Donald Trump, yet denying him the honor will discredit the committee in the eyes of the world.
So, if they cannot deny him this award, what can they do to cheapen it? My guess is that they will name more than one winner and possibly three. They would do this in order to make it appear that what Trump has done is good but not head and shoulders above what anyone else has done. mark this date and my prediction.
