It seems as though Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has been studying the actions of Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) as he has been attempting, repeatedly, to tell CNN anchor Dana Bash that he has solid ‘evidence’ that a large number of Republicans begged former President Donald Trump to issue pardons for what they did on the 6th of January.
Raskin was brought on to appear on a segment of “State of the Union” from CNN this past Sunday to speak about the currently happening public January 6th Committee hearings, which first started this past Thursday and are slated to continue into next week. Bash did make a not about the claim Raskin made that Republicans had requested Trump for pardons, and then pressed Raskin about the claim quite a few times without success.

“I want to ask you about pardons,” stated Bash. “You revealed this week that multiple Republican members of Congress sought pardons from President Trump after the insurrection. How many of your colleagues in Congress did that? And what evidence do you have? Because you know that congressman Scott Perry is denying it.”
Throughout the interview, Raskin seemed to be quite evasive towards the questions from Bash, namely just how many republicans he was trying to accuse and what kind of actual evidence he sported against them. Instead, he made the argument that if Republicans had actually done such a thing, it was seemingly an indicator that they were guilty of breaking the law and knew that fact.
“The seeking of pardons is powerful demonstration of the consciousness of guilt, or at least the consciousness you may be in trouble,” he stated. “That’s what’s so shocking about this. It’s not just one.”
“You have evidence that this happened?” Bash questioned once again.
“It is multiple members of Congress, as the vice chair said at our opening period,” responded Raskin, still refusing to give any firm details and only making the claim that the truth would be revealed in time. “And all in due course. The details will surface.”
“So, yes, there’s evidence?” Bash attempted to ask now a third time in the interview.
“Everything we’re doing is documented by evidence,” stated Raskin plainly. “Unlike the big lie, which is based on nonsense, as former Attorney General Barr said. Everything that we’re doing is based on facts and this is a bipartisan investigation, which is determined to ferret out all the facts of what happened.”
Byron York, from the Washington Examiner, issued a statement that made it quite clear that he was entirely unimpressed with the evasive and vague answers coming from Raskin. “I’m not saying the J6 committee does not have evidence on this topic,” he claimed in a tweet. “But to make a serious charge and then, when asked for proof, say, ‘all in due course, the details will surface’ — that is not a responsible way to operate.”

“It’s the Adam Schiff model. Didn’t hurt him at all when everything he’d said about Russian collusion was exposed as a lie, why should these Democrats (one of which is Schiff) care?” stated Derek Hunter.
