In a scathing critique, Chris Cuomo, the prominent anchor of NewsNation, launched a scorching rebuke against mainstream media, accusing them of failing to cover the escalating crisis at the southern border of the United States.
Cuomo, previously associated with CNN but now no longer affiliated due to a series of controversies in late 2021, took to reporting from the southern border on Monday. He boldly asserted that the media had deliberately ignored the issue, asserting that politicians from both the Republican and Democratic parties had exploited the crisis for their own electoral gains.
According to Cuomo, the absence of large crowds seemed to indicate that undocumented immigrants had already been relocated to other parts of the country. He questioned why this critical development had been overlooked by the media, stating, “Despite all the political rhetoric about an impending invasion, there is now an eerie absence of individuals here.”
“The media made a colossal blunder by ignoring this issue, okay? We need answers regarding their whereabouts, and their absence serves as compelling evidence of the inherent flaws in our system,” concluded Cuomo.
He further criticized President Joe Biden and both major political parties for their inaction on the matter. Cuomo insinuated that those in positions of authority often refrained from taking action because it served their political interests to do so.
“Both the right and the left are exhibiting absolute irrationality. The right eagerly anticipated the arrival of hordes, and now that they have come, we see President Trump grinning and saying, ‘Ha ha ha.’ Is it really better than anticipated? The numbers of individuals being processed and released into the United States are reaching unprecedented levels,” Cuomo continued. “It’s not a laughing matter, but if it is a joke, then the joke is on us, as the powerful perpetuate it.”
