Kentucky Republican and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer have threatened to investigate the Biden family’s finances, specifically those buying artwork by Hunter Biden and making donations to the Penn Biden Center.
Comer has contacted several institutions, including the White House, the University of Pennsylvania, and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, to get documents and information. He has already told The Washington Examiner that he plans to investigate further and, if necessary, issue subpoenas for relevant documents.
“trying to trace down the monies,” Comer told the Examiner. There will be a thorough examination of bank records. Banks and other financial organizations will be scrutinized for cases of wrongdoing. We’re going in that route because we need to know who’s paying for all the cons the Bidens have been doing, including the Biden Center for Diplomacy and Hunter Biden’s paintings.
There has been significant buzz about the discovery of secret government documents at former President Joe Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Washington, DC. Tens of millions of dollars are involved, with perhaps sixty million coming from Chinese organizations.
The news that the president’s son is an aspiring artist trying to sell his work has worried moral experts. The White House denied that the president’s son was trying to influence lawmakers with his artwork.
The White House and the gallery where Biden had an exhibition last year claimed they had taken precautions to avoid illegal or unethical conduct. Scholars of ethics have voiced worry regarding the absence of safeguards.
“It is not a viable protection,” asserted Associate Dean for Federal Procurement Law at GW Law School Jessica Tillman. It’s not always accurate just because they say it is.
She thinks it would be better to have an open policy. The sun’s rays are the most effective disinfectant, but if she advised you to turn them off, you should do so.
Comer and other Republicans have long been critical of Hunter’s hobby painting profession, particularly in light of the high sums at which Hunter’s paintings have sold.
Mr. Biden’s foray into the art world is the most recent example of his efforts to capitalize on his father’s political influence. Comer claimed that the investigation into Mr. Biden’s business dealings and those who have helped him in his dubious endeavors had been going on for over two years and would continue into the next Congress if necessary before Republicans took control of the House in September 2021 and gained subpoena power.
According to Comer, the recent discoveries of hidden papers at the Penn Biden Center and the president’s House in Wilmington, Delaware, have prompted calls for greater transparency in Hunter Biden’s financial dealings.
If nothing is there, Comer told the Examiner, the president “should be more than happy to collaborate with House Republicans because he may make us look awful.”
