Equality The Florida chapter of a far-left organization has issued a “travel advisory” warning people to stay away from the state. They believe that because the state protects youngsters from radical gender ideology and unborn infants, anybody who wishes to visit or migrate to the state is putting their “safety and freedom” in jeopardy.
Equality The state of Florida has taken reasonable steps to protect youth from radical leftist gender ideology and other things, prompting the “largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community” to issue a travel advisory this week.
The group issued a statement this week saying, “Today, Equality Florida did something very unusual by putting out a travel advisory,” warning anyone who are visiting the state or considering about moving there about potential hazards to their health, safety, and freedom. Why? Because “laws have been passed that are hostile to the LGBTQ community,” “limit access to reproductive health care,” “get rid of gun safety laws,” “encourage racial prejudice,” and “change people’s attitudes,” the organization argued.
What this means is that the group is opposed to efforts to strengthen family rights in Florida, which would safeguard children from radical gender ideology in the classroom and provide pro-life safeguards for the unborn (the Florida Senate enacted a six-week abortion bill last month). As of July 1, 2023, Florida will join the other 26 states that permit concealed carry.
The paper outlined multiple “assaults,” the first of which was “attacks on medical freedom.” There, the restrictions on “gender-affirming” therapies for minors in Florida are discussed. Things like hormone therapy, top and bottom surgery, and puberty suppressants are known as “gender-affirmation” on the left. A measure in Florida would make it illegal for doctors to perform such procedures on minors, and this has the group quite concerned.
The far-left party is also upset that the government of Florida is working to prevent the implementation of discriminatory and frequently racist Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and the banning of contentious texts from classrooms and public libraries. Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, called a conference last month to address the issue of sexually graphic text messages. Among the books available at the exhibition was one that advocated for trans persons to undergo surgery and discussed sexual satisfaction at length.
Equality The Sunshine State was also praised for its initiatives to advance gender equality in sports and to refocus education on American history in favor of “woke” Critical Race Theory (CRT). Justice for all “A bill being considered by the Florida legislature could make it a crime to shelter, help, or transport undocumented immigrants,” thus even Florida has declared war on “immigrant communities.”
Those who visit Florida should be aware of the dangers posed by the state’s “laws and policies that attack basic freedoms and rights,” the group said. We’re sad that so many individuals have left the state because of these attacks, and that so many more are considering leaving.
There has been the highest population growth in the recent year in the states of Florida and Texas. Florida has been labeled the “fastest-growing” state in America. The “risks” of visiting the region were still something they felt needed to be communicated.
Equality Republican Party of Florida Chairman Christian Ziegler poked fun at the state’s promotional materials.
When asked why people shouldn’t visit or relocate to Florida, he replied, “Don’t go to Florida or move there if you take anything a bad group like EqualityFL says seriously, even this silly Travel Advisory.”
“Don’t fall for their clickbait and fundraising schemes,” he said.
Equality Charlie Crist, a Democrat running against the now-Representative Ron DeSantis, a Republican, and losing by nearly 1.5 million votes, received many votes from this Florida district. They battled against the Parental Rights and Freedoms in Education Act. As the law’s passage would have “chilling effects,” the left-leaning group claims, educators will remove pride flags and rainbow safe space stickers from classroom windows.
