Former President Trump praised Pence as a “very honest man” in an exclusive statement after Pence was summoned by Special Counsel Jack Smith as part of his investigation into the incident at the Capitol on January 6 and Trump’s handling of secret materials after leaving office.
Smith issued the subpoena for Pence’s testimony after Pence’s legal team and federal prosecutors bargained for months.
Trump said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital on Friday that former Vice President Mike Pence is an “honorable man,” but he also listed many things he wants Smith to look into as part of his probe.
Will they investigate those who spied on my campaign? Trump inquired, alluding to the FBI’s first probe into possible collusion between Trump associates and the Russian government to swing the 2016 presidential election in his favor.
Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller assumed control of that inquiry in 2017. It took almost two years, but the investigation turned up no proof of criminal conspiracy or cooperation between the Trump campaign and Russia to influence the 2016 election.

The man at the head of the Russia investigation, Special Agent Charles McGonigal, was recently detained on charges of stealing millions of dollars from the Russian government. Trump inquired, referencing McGonigal, who had recently been charged on allegations of money laundering and other crimes related to his “collusion” with Russian tycoon Oleg Deripaska.
McGonigal, the former head of the FBI’s New York Counterintelligence Division, faces charges of receiving money from Oleg Deripaska, an associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and acting on his behalf.
Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page was the subject of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) order because of his association with Oleg Deripaska, a Russian tycoon who worked with Christopher Steele, the author of the notorious anti-Trump dossier.

There was “no intelligence that supports that theory,” according to then-Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, then-FBI Director Christopher Wray, and other then-currently-serving members of the intelligence community who stated that the laptop was not part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
The laptop was subpoenaed by the FBI in conjunction with an ongoing money laundering investigation, as originally reported by Fox News.
Hunter Biden said he was under FBI investigation for his “tax affairs” weeks after the 2020 election. As of 2018, Hunter Biden has been the subject of a federal inquiry. Foreign suspicious activity reports (SARs) were a key piece of evidence that prompted the investigation. According to people with knowledge of the probe, “China and other foreign nations’ monies” were used in such SARs.
Several Republican-led House committees are presently looking into Big Tech’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story as well as the Biden family’s commercial connections. According to a Fox News Digital report, Trump said, “When we had an honest press, the laptop from hell would have been the biggest story and everyone would have wanted it for a Pulitzer Prize.” Today, the Pulitzer Prize is meaningless and the fake news media didn’t want to cover it.
We don’t know what information prosecutors will demand from the ex-Vice President, or if Pence would use executive privilege to shield him from answering those questions.
During an interview with Fox News Digital in November, after Attorney General Merrick Garland named Smith as special counsel, Trump said he “won’t cooperate” in the probe into him, calling it “the greatest politicization of justice in our society.”
