In a recent development, former WWE star Stan Lane has voluntarily undergone a second DNA test to refute claims made by Shawn Roberts Bentz, the mother of Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert, who alleged that Lane is Boebert’s biological father.
Despite Bentz’s assertions, both Lane and Boebert agreed to undergo a second DNA test last month, which conclusively established that Lane is not the father of the lawmaker.
Boebert clarified the situation by stating, “Stan Lane is not my biological father, and I can confirm that. I have never publicly claimed he is my father, but certainly that allegation is out there.” The Daily Beast examined the DNA results, further confirming the outcome.
Even after an earlier court-ordered paternity test had already established that Lane had no biological connection to Boebert, Lane’s mother harbored reservations due to learning that the lab technician responsible for obtaining Lane’s blood sample had a conviction related to tampering with vials in an unrelated case.
The claims made by Bentz stem from a brief affair she had with Lane in the mid-1980s while Lane was living in Florida and working for Championship Wrestling. After Boebert’s birth, when Bentz sought child support from Lane, he promptly addressed the situation. “We went through the legal system and completed a court-ordered paternity test,” Lane stated in a statement to wrestling website PWInsider.com. “The court found that I was not the father, and the case was dropped.”
However, over two decades later, Bentz discovered that the phlebotomist involved in drawing Lane’s blood had been convicted of switching vials in a separate case. In light of this revelation, Lane consented to a second DNA paternity test, which unequivocally confirmed his “0.0% chance of being the biological father,” according to his statement.
Expressing relief at the resolution of this “stressful” situation, Lane highlighted the damage caused to his reputation and the impact on his loved ones. He emphasized his decision to retire from show business after 30 years, as he now intends to enjoy his retirement with his wife.
Boebert acknowledged the new paternity test results and stood by Lane, stating that he had been unjustly persecuted. She expressed her satisfaction in meeting Lane and his wife, expressing hope for a continued relationship in the future.
Lane extended his best wishes to Boebert, should she continue her search for her biological father, and expressed a hope that she finds the answers she seeks.
