An explosive story says that Queen Elizabeth II said in public that she was sorry that her grandson Prince Harry met his wife, Meghan Markle. She called Markle “evil” and their romance a “complete disaster.”
A person close to the royals told the Spectator that the longest-ruling queen “saw through Meghan Markle” and made the out-of-character comments at a reception in Balmoral in August, just weeks before her death.
“When a small group of people were having drinks before the dinner, the queen told them that Harry meeting Meghan had turned into a complete disaster and called Meghan evil,” the person said.
“Everybody’s eyebrows hit the ceiling,” the person said.
“It was out of character for the Queen to use a word like ‘evil’ to describe Meghan, but she could see right through her.
“It was shocking to hear that sentence from the woman who could forgive the most.”
The person said that the Queen’s rage happened because “her health was getting worse” and “she seemed to regret how things turned out.”
The Spectator also said it was proof that Markle’s friendship with the royals was probably “irreparable” even last year, before Harry’s damning book “Spare” and the couple’s Netflix docuseries.
Other people who know the banished Californians have also questioned their claim that the Queen was the only senior royal they stayed friendly with.
Tom Bower, a historian, says that the Queen once said about the funeral of her husband Prince Philip, “Thank goodness Meghan is not coming.”
After the Queen died, things got even worse. Harry had to rush to her deathbed without his unpleasant wife, which slowed him down and made it less likely that he would get to see her.
Still, they went to her funeral together, which showed even more how far apart they were from the rest of Harry’s family.
Markle, who is 41, won’t be at the coronation of her father-in-law, King Charles III, on Saturday, apparently because she wants to spend the day enjoying her son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday.
Even worse is her bond with her own father, Thomas Markle. Since he didn’t show up to her royal wedding in 2018, Charles had to walk her down the aisle by himself.
Harry’s 38-year-old husband is coming in for his father’s historic coronation, but he is expected to leave within a day.
