Says he’s “kind of glad” that the case against Biden has gotten stronger for Republicans.
Rep. James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, said that the Biden administration made it hard for Republicans to look into the business ties of the Biden family and “unintentionally helped” the probe.
“In a way, I’m glad that Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, and the Biden administration have been putting up roadblocks,” Comer told Maria Bartiromo of Fox News on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“Because when I asked for that information two weeks ago and now, we have a much stronger case in court for why we need these documents that the Biden family and the government are keeping from us,” he said.
So, Comer said, “they have unintentionally helped our case to get these documents so we can give the American people the proof and openness they deserve.”
The Kentucky congressman is in charge of the House Oversight Committee, which is looking into the business ties of the Biden family both in the United States and abroad.
Comer said that different government leaders, like Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and the Biden administration, made it hard for Republicans to get the documents.
“But since we last talked, we now have bank records in hand, which is good. Some people work with our committee. In the last two weeks, we have met with these people either in person or through their lawyers “He/she said.
“Now we have documents that show exactly how the Biden family got money from the Chinese Communist Party, and I’ll tell you, Maria, it’s as bad as we thought. It’s very worrying,” he said.
Comer told Bartiromo that the committee has bank records of people who worked with the Biden family in different businesses and found “a lot of transfers from account to account to account.” Comer said he thinks there were frequent cash transfers to hide where the money came from.
“The banks would think that they must be hiding money or doing something else illegal. Maria, I don’t know for sure that they were trying to hide money. I think they were trying to hide where that money came from, and I think it came from the Chinese Communist Party “Comer said.
