Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, has called the recent Chinese surveillance balloon that spanned the country for days until the Biden administration ordered the military to shoot it down the “number one subject” Americans should be debating.
Greene held tightly to her balloon as she discussed President Joe Biden’s handling of the balloon in an interview with Breitbart News before Tuesday’s State of the Union.
Assuring everyone, “It’s simply a white balloon, folks,” Greene said, “Joe Biden’s not frightened of balloons. Obama allowed a Chinese surveillance balloon to fly over the United States last week.
At a news briefing on Saturday, a senior Pentagon official stated that the military had successfully deflated the balloon, which had originally gained widespread notice last week after a photographer discovered it floating over Billings, Montana. An official stated that the balloon crossed into American territory on January 28 near the Aleutian Islands.
Amazingly interesting, “According to Greene, on January 28, the Chinese government sent a spy balloon toward the United States. The Pentagon, the Department of Defense, and the president of the United States were all aware of this, and they cleared the balloon’s entry into American territory. They then let the balloon travel across the entire country, spy on several military bases housing critical infrastructure, and collect as much information as possible before shooting it down.
According to a senior defense official, the Pentagon was “confident” on Saturday that the balloon had made its first trip across the country and crossed over sensitive areas, including military facilities, but that it had “taken all the necessary steps” to prevent the Chinese government, run by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), from collecting sensitive data.
Greene remarked, “You know, everybody’s talking about the economy today.” “But I’ll fill you in on the topic that’s getting everyone in the United States talking. Conversations have turned to the Chinese spy balloon and the president’s lack of response.
A defense official said that the president “wanted to eliminate needless harm to civilians and so we set out an option to take it out over the ocean, and that’s what we did.”
Allegations have surfaced that Biden may have revised parts of his State of the Union address that dealt with China, a major U.S. opponent, in light of the balloon incident, and Greene has claimed that Biden will have trouble taking any tone that condemns the communist-run country.
What can we expect from Biden’s position on China, anyway? He is officially Chinese property. There is no doubt as to who Hunter Biden is. We are aware of his business dealings financially. From Joe’s stint as president on, we’ve been aware of his high-level engagement. No one knows what happened during his lengthy presidency. This week, Joe Biden needs to make amends with the American people and reassure them that he would be tough on China if for no other reason than to counteract the tough stance China will inevitably adopt toward the United States.
Greene, in his new position as a member of the House Oversight Committee, will be able to have a significant influence on the probe into Biden’s possible involvement in his son Hunter’s overseas business activities. This Congress, Greene will serve on the committee thanks to his election.
“Marjorie, we are shocked by what transpired,” Americans have told Greene. “I agree with them; the president let us down,” Greene said. To me, this is the most serious issue at hand.
While Greene said she planned to carry the balloon to the State of the Union address on Tuesday, she was unsure whether or not security would allow her to do so.
