A week after the bombshell announcement that Tucker Carlson would no longer be a nightly star on Fox News, his fans are still reeling.
Friends, former guests on Carlson’s show, and members of the media have all spoken out about the positive impact Carlson has had on their lives and careers.
When I initially arrived to Washington, DC, [Tucker Carlson] found out that I would be spending my first Thanksgiving away from family. I had recently gotten divorced and my children were on the other side of the country, so when radio personality Larry O’Connor wrote, “He invited me to his house for Thanksgiving, where I spent the day with his dad, his wife, his kids, and his dogs,” he was referring to the day the O’Connors celebrated the holiday together.
“I really felt like I was adopted into their family. It turned what could have been a lonely and depressing day into one I’ll always treasure. His loved ones are full of laughter and good times. Tucker has won the prize for today.
In the words of another, “Tucker Carlson is one of the nicest and most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met.”Jaimee Michell, who founded the organization Gays Against Groomers, stated on Twitter, “When I met him a few months ago, he greeted me as if we had been best friends for life.”
Just three months after launching [Gays Against Groomers], I was featured on this man’s show, and for that I will be eternally grateful. Three more times after that, he invited me on to talk about our collaboration. He also made direct contact with me and has been offering assistance, counsel, and companionship. He didn’t have to, but he saw the value of our remarks in the struggle to end the war on children, she added.
Fox News couldn’t survive without him. No longer is viewing worthwhile. But he will succeed and lead wherever he goes.
A few years back, Tucker surprised me with a text message telling me he like my writing. I wasn’t as well-known back then as I am now. At first, I believed he didn’t recognize me. He went to the trouble of tracking down my contact information and calling. ‘In our profession, there aren’t many individuals like that,’ Daily Wire presenter Matt Walsh lamented.
Very few people in authoritative positions will provide you encouragement when they stand to gain nothing by doing so. Only Tucker Carlson would dare to say such a thing publicly. A decent human being with considerable skill.
A video showing Carlson having a conversation with a man about fly fishing has been recirculating on social media.
“Tucker Carlson is the most influential voice on the right in America, and anyone who has had the pleasure of conversing with him will attest to the fact that he is also a really kind person. Greg Price, a conservative social media celebrity, said that this classic film also demonstrates this.
When Tucker Carlson heard from friends that I was struggling, he contacted me out of the blue. He spent 45 minutes out of his evening to assist/advise me despite the fact that we had never met. National Review contributor Nate Hochman said it was one of the craziest things he’s ever done.
“One of the most influential persons in Republican politics called a youngster he’d never met before to encourage him to keep trying and ask if he could help in any way. The guy was 23 years old. I’ll never forget that; it changed my life forever.
