On Friday, Republican South Carolina senator Lindsey Grahm visited Ukraine, where she declared that “global order is at stake” and called for further military help to the country.
So that the Russian invader may be forced out of Ukraine, Graham added, “We will keep urging the American people and the government to offer economic and military aid to Ukraine.”
U.S. and Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, met with Senators Graham, Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).
“Tanks are essential to the success of the Ukrainian armed forces in accomplishing this mission. I’m sick of hearing ridiculous claims about who will send tanks and when. Putin is trying to alter Europe’s political landscape by force. The South Carolina senator expressed concern that the “world order” might be threatened.
“Give the order to Germany to ship several tanks to Ukraine since they are desperately needed there. Putin’s defeat in Ukraine would be beneficial for your country. He urged the Biden administration to send American tanks to set an example for other nations.
“If Putin is successful, Taiwan will be no more. Everything we have said since WWII is a farce if Putin wins in Ukraine and isn’t penalized under international law. He’ll keep going after Ukraine until he gets there, “In Graham’s words.
Members of both parties in the Senate made the following requests:
Wagner Group is a paramilitary organization based in Russia. The Wagner Group is designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States.
Including Russia in the group of states that provide material support for terrorism
Supporting criminal charges against Russians by the International Criminal Court (ICC)
Ukraine needs continued financial and military help.
Blumenthal warned that although the war is now taking place in Ukraine, “tomorrow it will be us” if we don’t stop Vladimir Putin immediately.
In his own words, the Connecticut senator argued, “We shouldn’t deploy American troops to Ukraine, but we should provide Ukraine everything we would offer our forces if they were fighting on the ground.”
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin quoted Breitbart News’ Kristina Wong as saying the United States would stand by Ukraine “for as long as it takes” after the Biden administration launched a new, multibillion-dollar aid package for the country. Spending on the Ukrainian military has increased by $27.5 billion since the year 2021 began.
It’s estimated that the United States has spent over $100 billion on this war since it began.
Defense contractors have been raking millions of dollars while the Biden administration maintains its extended support of Ukraine.
