Joe Biden, vice president, campaigned in Florida on Tuesday, a week before the midterm elections in November, when his party is predicted to lose the House and maybe even the Senate due to a red wave. We already know that the early voting statistics for Democrats in that state are far lower than desired. The president frequently brings up the subject of Beau’s death, especially when it comes to asserting that Beau was killed in Iraq. The truth is that Beau, who actually served, passed away in 2015 due to brain cancer. When you realize that Biden probably didn’t even plan to bring up Iraq, you can see how awful his comments really are.
Inflation is at record highs not seen in four decades, and the president was talking about it because it is an important issue for voters. Not only does Biden have low popularity ratings on the inflation problem, but other surveys suggest that Republicans have an advantage in handling the economy as well.
After saying that “inflation is a worldwide concern right now because of the War in Iraq,” Biden later said that he actually meant “the War in Ukraine.” Despite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, inflation was already an issue, as even NPR admitted.
Biden later referenced Beau, saying, “I think of Iraq because that’s where my son died.”
Similar to other high-ranking Democrats in his administration and in leadership, Biden sought to reassure the American people that “inflation is a worldwide concern right now,” as if it would make them feel better.
That was far from being Biden’s only inexplicable slip-up.
On Tuesday, as a result of Beau Biden’s comments, his name became a top trending topic worldwide on Twitter.
However, contenders have been lining up to be photographed with former President Barack Obama. On Tuesday, Obama will be campaigning in Nevada alongside Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and Governor Steve Sisolak.
