Mexico has publicly denounced the “rude threats” made by Republicans.
The White House released its strategy on Tuesday to stem the massive, potentially deadly flood of fentanyl entering the United States. The idea now is to engage with the private sector even more closely in an effort to narrow any gaps, despite the fact that this has made matters worse with Mexico.
The White House issued a statement saying, “The worldwide illicit fentanyl supply chain has transformed how illegal narcotics are created and distributed. The Biden-Harris Administration has announced a new, more comprehensive strategy to combat the flow of illegal fentanyl and its precursors into the United States.
Many people have lost their lives due to fentanyl during the past few years. Over 70,000 people will overdose and die in 2021 due to using this narcotic, which is 50-100 times more potent than morphine.
Drug cartels in Mexico typically use Chinese components to produce their illicit wares. Then, it’s transported across the international bridge that connects the United States and Mexico.
New measures to prevent the importation of opioids were revealed by the White House on Tuesday. It claimed leadership of a “coordinated global effort with international partners” to halt drug trafficking.
Reportedly, it has requested the United Nations to assume responsibility for three further precursors and is organizing a “global coalition” to do so. The goal is to put an end to the worldwide unlawful production of synthetic pharmaceuticals. The Vice President specifically mentioned the organization by name during his recent meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Canada and the United States are “committed to building a new global coalition of countries with similar goals, led by Canada and the United States, to deal with this crisis,” as stated by Vice President Joe Biden.
The White House has also promised to facilitate cooperation and information sharing amongst law enforcement officials. Precursors, weaponry, and their origins, routes, and locations should all be investigated, and more money should be confiscated at the border. The White House’s plan to combat money laundering involves restricting criminals’ access to the nation’s financial institutions.
The government also claims it is increasing its global cooperation with corporations to foil traffickers’ attempts to get weapons, narcotics, and other necessities.
To “make it harder for these criminals to get money and supplies,” the Biden-Harris administration has launched a government-wide initiative in partnership with the private sector to “intercept more illegal substances and production materials; educate companies on how to avoid selling and distributing dual-use chemicals and equipment that could be used to make illegal fentan.”
Ultimately, it wants Congress to fill in certain legal loopholes. Schedule I, which includes medications with no accepted medical value and a high potential for misuse, might be expanded to include any unlawful substances suspected of having ties to fentanyl.
The White House has promised to continue its crackdown and arrests at the southern border, and authorities there have already begun doing so.
The present scenario at the border, according to some Republicans, is allowing more fentanyl to enter the nation. This data sheet just so happens to have appeared. Nearly all arrests, according to the administration and the Democrats, take place at the border.
Republican leaders, meanwhile, have pressed for a more rapid response. They want for the military to launch attacks on drug laboratories in Mexico and classify drug gangs as terrorist organizations. This has not gone down well with Mexico’s president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
He claims he would launch a “information campaign” against Republicans who support these policies, even though it’s not true that fentanyl is manufactured in Mexico. He is upset because of the negative comments made by the Biden government about the way his nation protects human rights.
He recently demanded more action from Beijing in order to cut off the supply and blasted “rude threats” from Washington.
Xi Jinping, the president of China, sent his message: “They are unfairly blaming us for problems that have a lot to do with their loss of values and their welfare crisis.” These debates aim to shame us into giving up our rights and make us feel terrible about ourselves. They originate from a worldview that is characterized by demagoguery, irrationality, manipulation, and propaganda.
