Welcome to Chicago. Mayor Lori Lightfoot would like to welcome you to the mostly peaceful protests ever to injure seventeen police officers. Police and the peaceful protesters clashed in the streets. One police officer was clubbed multiple times on the head with a skateboard. But it was a peaceful skateboard.
The rioters employed umbrellas throughout the crowd to hide their peaceful actions from the police.
The following video footage shows the initial incident that sparked yesterday’s violence and arrests, as well as the aggravated battery against a CPD officer with a skateboard. More video will be released throughout the day as it is received. pic.twitter.com/oW7Z3oGKSZ

The city became so uncontrollable again that the city raised all of it’s drawbridges once again to keep out more of the peaceful protesters. They have been doing this on a regular basis recently. Lightfoot is beginning to worry as several large businesses say they are leaving Chicago because the high prices and taxes and the unabated looting, makes it unprofitable to stay.
Here at The Bean in #MillenniumPark where protesters have gathered with the following demands:
1. Take CPD out of CPS
2. Cancel the ICE Citizens Academy
3. Reallocate funds towards e-learning & community centers
4. Universities cut ties with ICE #ChicagoProtests pic.twitter.com/RP9TYLxrxK— Grace Del Vecchio (@delvecchiograce) August 15, 2020
“What we’ve seen in cities all across the country, not just Chicago, is a continuing wave of protests,” Lightfoot told host Margaret Brennan. “The vast majority of these have been peaceful. But what we’ve also seen is people who have embedded themselves in these seemingly peaceful protests and come for a fight.”
Lightfoot reiterated her opinion that the riots and looting that happened in Chicago last Sunday night were “a planned attack.” “It’s not spontaneous when you bring U-Haul trucks, cargo vans, and high-end robbery tools,” Lightfoot said.
