Spencer broke the news yesterday, but it seems like a nasty home invasion occurred at the Pelosi mansion. A naked guy armed with hammers broke into Nancy Pelosi’s home and attacked her husband, Paul. This summer, Mr. Pelosi’s arrest for DUI made national headlines.
Mrs. Pelosi was in Washington at the time of the attack, and the suspect, 42-year-old David DePape, reportedly asked where she was. However, Mr. Pelosi’s assault was severe enough to require emergency skull surgery. He will likely make a full recovery. Thanks to a fortunate ending, no lives were lost in this terrifying event.
The home invasion dispatch call raises many doubts, though. Mr. Pelosi allegedly made an emergency call from the restroom, where the dispatchers could hear that a major crisis was occurring and that a health check was necessary. The police came and disarmed DePape, although he was identified as a “friend” in the supposed emergency call.
Do the Pelosis consider Mr. DePape a “friend”? Don’t rush to conclusions because of potential inaccuracies in police-dispatcher communications. The search for the Boston Marathon bomber is a prime example of this since Sunil Tripathi was first mistaken for the perpetrator. The aftermath of this incident ultimately led to Tripathi’s death in 2013. Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, brothers, were the actual perpetrators. As Dzhokhar waited for his execution, Tamerlan was slain by Dzhokhar as the two fled Boston in an SUV.
Mr. DePape’s supposed status as a “friend” raises eyebrows, given that he was once described as a drug addict, homeless, and a mentally ill man who slept in storage containers. There is little doubt that DePape’s manifesto was full of rants about censorship, the 2020 election, and the January 6 disturbance, among other things. There appears to be no ideological motivation for this attack on the part of this individual, and he does look “crazy.”
This attack on Pelosi is already a strange tale, and now it’s taken an even worse turn.
