Latest Fox Poll Not In Roy Moore’s Favor Despite Latest Revelations

According to the latest Fox News Poll, Democrat Doug Jones is ahead of Roy Moore by 10 points for the Alabama Senate race, based on 50% of those polled saying that they prefer Jones to Moore’s 40%.

Though a poll just last month showed Moore ahead by 8 points and given the latest news that his accuser for sure forged the yearbook (at least in part) the latest poll results are surprising.

    The election is tomorrow.

According to the New York Times, Four days before an Alabama Senate election with broad implications for American government, the narrow questions of whether Roy S. Moore wrote in a high school yearbook 40 years ago, and what it means for sexual misconduct allegations against him, once again took center stage on Friday.

Beverly Young Nelson, the woman who has accused Mr. Moore, the Republican candidate, of misconduct, acknowledged on Friday that a few of the words in her yearbook under what she said was an inscription by Mr. Moore were written by her, not him.

    As reported by The Hill:

According to the Fox News poll, 90 percent of Democrats said they prefer Jones, along with 11 percent of Republicans. Eighty-one percent of Republicans said they prefer Moore.

It is Jones’s best performance in any poll since the primary.

The Senate race has attracted national attention since allegations against Moore of sexual misconduct involving teenage girls were first reported. Nearly 10 women have come forward with accusations that Moore romantically or sexually pursued them when they were teens and he was in his 30s. One woman said he molested her when she was 14 years old, while another accused Moore of sexually assaulting her when she was 16.

President Trump has thrown his support behind Moore, despite the allegations. At a campaign rally last Friday near the Alabama border in Pensacola, Fla., Trump urged his supporters who had traveled from Alabama to vote for Moore.
