The “overall political situation remains dismal for Democrats,” according to the last NBC News poll before Tuesday’s midterm elections.

Chuck Todd, presenter of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” highlighted an economic sentiment polling statistic as telling.

There is bad news for Democrats.

Eighty-one percent of respondents rated their dissatisfaction with the economy as “extremely” or “very,” and more than seventy percent indicated they think the United States is headed in the wrong way.

This is the second largest amount we’ve ever recorded,” Todd said. In 2010, right before the election, was the last time it was this high. So, you already know the ending of that story.

According to political analyst Jeff Greenfield, key strategist to former President Barack Obama, David Axelrod foresaw dire consequences for the Democratic Party.
