Trump Signs Order to Prevent Illegal Immigrants From Being Counted in Redrawing of Voting Districts

President Trump has issued an Executive Order that disallows the counting of illegal aliens in determining how many members of the House each state gets. You might be surprised on how much representation illegal aliens get. On average there are 747,184 people in a congressional district. If we use the high figure of 22 million illegal aliens, that means 29 House seats are assigned to illegal aliens. Using the low figure of 11 million illegals, they have  15 representatives in the House.

In other words whatever the number of illegals there are, they cancel out an equal number of American citizens. California alone could lose as many as 4 House seats. Alabama is scheduled to lose a House seat because of the low number of illegals in the state. They would remain the same if President Trump’s EO survives court challenges.

The count also affects how much money states get from spending bills authorized by congress. Whenever you distribute money on the basis of illegal immigration, an equal number of Americans are cancelled out. Somehow Democrats think this is fair. Well, they really don’t believe that, they just want the added power.

    From Fox News

“Today’s action to exclude illegal aliens from the apportionment base reflects a better understanding of the Constitution and is consistent with the principles of our representative democracy,” Trump said. “My Administration will not support giving congressional representation to aliens who enter or remain in the country unlawfully, because doing so would create perverse incentives and undermine our system of government.  Just as we do not give political power to people who are here temporarily, we should not give political power to people who should not be here at all.”

The order, giving justification, says that the Constitution “does not specifically define which persons must be included in the apportionment base.”
