Apparently, President Donald Trump can’t even get a pat on the back from CNN for getting three UCLA basketball players release from China who were facing a hefty jail sentence for shoplifting…

Nope, they want to divide and conquer. They hope that this is the crap their viewers want to see.

On “CNN Newsroom With Brooke Baldwin,” the host said, “You have these three black men and you have this white president and part of it has been the undertone of based on previous tweets…”

Cupp said, “I was trying to walk into it, you can run in, I was going to step in…”

“I’m just going to go there, and where I’m going with it is that you have this president essentially saying to these three black men, essentially like ‘where’s my apology?’”

Cupp said, “You better thank me, because I got you home, and ‘isn’t it amazing to see three black athletes thanking the president?’ I don’t think that’s going to make someone like Colin Kaepernick second-guess his thoughts on police brutality, or any of the other athletes who have serious issues with race in this country or police brutality, I don’t think it is going to change their minds. But, Trump got a very small ego boost today.”

There is no hope for CNN in this case. They are on the losing side. And Trump wasn’t asking for an apology, he was pointing out how he didn’t get one. You know, a sign of respect — he could have just let them stay locked up but he didn’t.

So you can’t sing his praises, Brooke? Really? They should have thanked him from the get-go! Not after his tweet.

“Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail!” the president tweeted.

“To President Trump and the United States government, thank you for taking the time to intervene on our behalf,” another player, Cody Riley, said. “We really appreciate you helping us out.”

“Thank you to the United States government and President Trump for your efforts to bring us home,” the third player, Jalen Hill, said.
