A recent report from NBC has stated that the Democrat congressman slated to run against Republican Mayra Flores for the now flipped seat in the Texas House has paid a blogger who makes reference to the Hispanic Candidate as “Miss Frijoles,” “cotton-pickin’ liar,” and a cast array of other vile insults.
Rep. Vincente Gonzales (D-TX) issued a payment of $1,200 to the McHale Report Blog back on the 24th of June under the line item “advertising services.” Since the tendering of this payment, the blog has viciously and repeatedly gone after Flores with many attacks, calling her “Miss Frijoles” well over 20 times.
“My far left opponent, Vincent Gonzalez, hired a local blogger to run hateful & racist ads against me,” stated Flores on social media this past Monday. “But, I love frijoles & I grew up eating frijoles. I am not embarrassed of my upbringings & frijoles w/tortillas de harina is simply the best. Here’s to Miss Frijoles 2022.”
The owner of the blog, Jerry McHale, has accused Flores of just being a “Trump fanatic” and has tried to defend his attacks just being part of the standard political game. Back on the 13th of May, he also posted, well before the check from the Gonzalez campaign hit his account, “Does Flores want Trump to come & take her p****?”
“I am a liberal Democrat. And it’s war against the Republican,” exclaimed McHale to NBC. “I’m going to be merciless with her.”
“If you entertain any illusions of winning, you’re going to have to run on stronger issues that being baptized Miss Frijoles. In your rebuttal to the Miss Flores’ designation, you expressed your love for frijoles. Be careful and don’t eat too many because you’ve already done enough farting out of your mouth,” reads one of the vitriol-laden diatribes against Flores.
McHale, who has previously been paid and utilized by Gonzalez, has not yet run anything resembling an advertisement for the congressman anywhere on his blog which has led many to question just what the money paid for “advertising services” actually was being used for. He got $1,000 in compensation from the congressman as well last year.
Democrats, including the Gonzalez campaign, have stated that they do not support any of the language used by McHale.
“Of course, the congressman is against referring to Rep. Flores as ‘Miss Frijoles’ or a ‘cotton-picking liar’,” stated the campaign manager for Gonzalez, Collin Steele.
The blog in question also includes quite a bit of other objectionable content, such as repeated use of the n-word.
