Mexican authorities have recently made the tragic discovery of a fourth corpse in a well located in Baja California, which is 50 feet deep. Two Australian surfers and an American were previously identified in the well. The bodies of three surfers, Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, a resident of Georgia, and Callum and Jake Robinson, both 30, both from Australia, were reported missing last Saturday. It is believed that they perished while on a surfing excursion near the renowned surf location La Bocana, which is situated approximately 130 miles south of San Diego.
Three individuals were apprehended by the police subsequent to the somber revelation: Jesús Gerardo Garcia Cota, better recognized as El Kekas; his accomplice Ari Gisel García Cota; and Cristian Alejandro Garcia, the brother of Jesus. Following the discovery that one of the suspects was in possession of one of the missing surfers’ phones, in addition to methamphetamine and other illicit substances, arrests were issued.
Having attracted surfers from around the world due to its picturesque surroundings and challenging swells, the location where the missing surfers went down this incident has especially profoundly affected the international surfing community. The identification of the fourth corpse discovered in the well belonged to a ranch owner from the area who had been reported missing for a period of two weeks prior to the discovery. The fact that he was the owner of the property in which the bodies were discovered further complicated the investigation.
A statement of condolence was released by Stevenson University in Baltimore, where Callum Robinson excelled as a lacrosse athlete and a former alumnus. The university acknowledged his ongoing participation in the sport via the Premier Lacrosse League and reflected on his contributions to the lacrosse team.
The continuous inquiry into the fatalities of these surfers has captivated both the local and international communities, shedding light on the perils that may lie in seemingly perfect environments. As Mexican authorities confront the repercussions of drug-related violence in the area, they persist in their investigation into the circumstances that led to these heinous fatalities.
