Al Franken has announced that he will resign amidst the sexual harassment allegations that have been thrown his way then he takes the opportunity to point a finger at President Donald Trump.
“Some of the allegations against me are simply not true. Others, I remember very differently,” Franken said.
“In the coming weeks, I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate,” he announced.
“I, off all people, am aware that there is some irony in the fact that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the Senate with the full support of his party,” he said, referring to President Trump and Alabama Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Roy Moore.
“But this decision is not about me,” Franken explained. “It’s about the people of Minnesota. And it’s become clear that I can’t both pursue the ethics committee process and at the same time remain an effective senator for them.”
This, of course, is in reference to a tape that surfaced during the 2016 campaign trail well before Donald Trump became President or made it TRULY known that he was, indeed, running.
No, he was a wealthy man… but essentially a private citizen. Among many of us, this was nothing more than “locker room talk” and it never really went further than that. The left, however, deems to necessary to bring it up at every opportunity meanwhile they call their own ADMITTED harassers “icons”.
“I will continue to stand up for the things I believe in as a citizen and an activist,” he said.
Franken’s fall all bein when Leeann Tweeden accused the former-Senator of forcibly kissing and groping her during a USO tour in 2006 when he was just a “comedian”. He issued an apology and had many top level Democrats sticking up for him but ultimately — he has resigned.
