I’m truly satisfied with President Trump thus far. I think he’s done pretty darn well at a very difficult job. The “icing on the cake” is that sometimes he can make me laugh.
When was the last time we had a POTUS that kept us both loving our Nation AND entertained?
This time… he boasted the “size” of his nuke button to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
“North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the ‘Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times,’” President Trump wrote on Twitter. “Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!”
Some people just can’t learn to laugh…
“I guess the president regards this as a show of strength,” Representative Jim Himes, Democrat of Connecticut and a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said on CNN. “But as everybody who’s ever been in a, you know, first-grade playground recognizes, it’s usually the person who’s most aggressively pounding their chest that is, in fact, the weak one on the playground.”
“Spoken like a petulant ten-year-old,” Eliot A. Cohen, who was counselor to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice under President George W. Bush, wrote on Twitter. “But one with nuclear weapons — for real — at his disposal. How responsible people around him, or supporting him, can dismiss this or laugh it off is beyond me.
It should be noted that North Korea has actually made quite a bit of advancement in their nuclear and deliverability capabilities, with some of their missiles now capable of reaching the United States.
So why poke the little bear? Well… it could be that Trump just takes no sh*t off anyone but it could be a deterrent in itself. Yeah I’m speculating but Kim won’t launch first; not with the whole world watching as President Donald Trump pokes him a little.
