Making it’s rounds, quietly as it may be, is the fact that Dr. David Dao, the United Airlines passenger that was forcibly removed off his flight, has a pretty old drug conviction. Like 13 years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to take up for the guy and what he did 13 years ago but I find it pretty reprehensible that this is being used to seemingly discredit what happened to him on that now infamous flight.
Dr. David Dao, 69, who was captured in a now-viral video being forcibly dragged off the Louisville-bound flight at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport on Sunday, was working as a doctor specializing in pulmonary disease in Elizabethtown when he was convicted of trading prescription drugs for sexual favors.
Yeah, that’s disgusting. But again it has nothing to do with what happened to him. Of course it was investigated by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure and well it should have. It’s not a good thing in the least. The board’s investigation did, in fact, discover that a patient by the name of Brian Case did raise several red flags. Including some potentially unnecessary examinations and Case eventually becoming the Office Manager.
Case quit due to “inappropriate remarks” made by Dr. Dao. The Doctor didn’t drop it, however, and arranged to trade prescription drugs for sexual acts.
The medical board said Dao had a sexual relationship with Case and supplied him with narcotics while Case was his patient. The two would often meet at hotel rooms.
The two allegedly worked together to obtain prescription narcotics at several pharmacies over three years, according to reports.
So all this has been dug up because of what happened to Dr. Dao when he was forcibly removed from his flight. I don’t really see a connection in the least. Which is why I’m even bothering bringing it up. It’s terrible that he would do that but it was a long time ago. How is he now? Was he on his way to trade some drugs for sexual acts when the United incident occurred? Probably not.
Here’s the video. Tell us what you think?
