Apparently, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is as fed up with extreme terrorism as you and I and has vowed to do something about it!
Speaking at an investment conference in Riyadh this week, he stated that he will move his country toward a more moderate form of Islam and plans to combat extremism within the religion.
“We want to go back to what we were, the moderate Islam that is open to the world, open to all the religions,” Prince bin Salman said. “We will not waste 30 years of our lives dealing with extremist ideas, we will destroy them today.”
THIS! This is what we need more of! People in power in the middle east who are genuine in their want for real change in their region. I truly hope he means it and that he enacts a plan to truly begin the change his country so desperately needs.
As reported by Emily Zanotti for The Daily Wire:
The 32-year-old Prince bin Salman officially became heir to the Saudi throne earlier this year, and is responsible for a handful of shocking reforms inside the country, including a recent decision to allow women to obtain drivers’ licenses and operate cars in public without fear of retribution from religious police — a ban that has been in place more than six decades.

It’s also important to note that Prince bin Salman is behind the country’s Vision 2030 campaign which aims to modernize Saudi Arabia — a task that mostly involves weaning itself off oil money as the globe turns to clearer, alternative forms of energy. The country needs to attract foreign investment, and this week’s conference, which has drawn millionaires and billionaires from across the world, is key to keeping Saudi Arabia’s economy going, even if the need for fossil fuels dries up.
