The False Alarm that went out to residents of Hawaii over the weekend has been getting dissected by people on both sides of the aisle.
It said: “Emergency alert. Ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek immediate shelter. This is not a drill.”
FCC chairman Ajit Pai stated, “will focus on what steps need to be taken to prevent a similar incident from happening again.” further commenting, “Federal, state and local officials throughout the country need to work together to identify any vulnerabilities to false alerts and do what’s necessary to fix them.”
“The false emergency alert sent yesterday in Hawaii was absolutely unacceptable,” Pai said. “It caused a wave of panic across the state … Moreover, false alerts undermine public confidence in the alerting system and thus reduce their effectiveness during real emergencies.”
For some reason, Celebrities took to Twitter to make some pretty outrageous claims.
Jim Carrey, who was in Hawaii at the time of alert, called it a “psychic warning” and seemed to blame Trump, calling him a “one-man Gomorrah” and berating his Republican congress for “alienating the world” and heading for “suffering beyond all imagination.”
“I woke up this morning in Hawaii with ten minutes to live. It was a false alarm, but a real psychic warning. If we allow this one-man Gomorrah and his corrupt Republican congress to continue alienating the world we are headed for suffering beyond all imagination. ;^\”

Since then, the internet has been RIPE with claims along this line. I think we all know it’s nuts but heck, it got me doing a lot of reading last night.
Of course, as Carrey did, many celebrities took to their Twitters to BLAME TRUMP… WHY?
Halloween actress Jamie Lee Curtis stated: “This Hawaii missle scare is on YOU Mr. Trump. The real FEAR that mothers & fathers & children felt is on YOU. It is on YOUR ARROGANCE. HUBRIS. NARCISSISM. RAGE. EGO. IMMATURITY and your UNSTABLE IDIOCY. Shame on your hate filled self. YOU DID THIS!”
This literally, actually, makes no sense. How is it his fault? He’s supposed to let the little potato man push us around?
Producer Judd Apatow tweeted: “I don’t buy any of this. This will make us all conspiracy theorists” — seemingly going along the lines of Carrey previously.
What do you think? Have you ever experienced something remotely “paranormal” that may give this idea some pause?
