DOJ Opens Investigation into BLM and Prosecutors in Cliven Bundy Case

Most of you will remember when the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) raided the Cliven Bundy Ranch in Nevada. As it turns out both the investigators and the prosecutors violated Bundy’s civil rights more times than the average liberal can count to. Besides all the illegal actions committed by the BLM, the investigators and the prosecutors, their case fell apart this week when the judge ruled that the prosecutors violated the Brady Act six times. The Brady Act is about disclosure. Prosecutors must turn over all documents and evidence during disclosure, including exculpatory evidence.

The judge has declared a mistrial because of all of the Brady violations and has called for a hearing on January 8th in order to determine whether the case will be thrown out altogether. Normally, a prosecutor can bring charges again but if the judge dismisses the case with prejudice (Meaning favoring Bundy) the prosecutor cannot retry him. The judge can also take the actions of the BLM and their investigator into account. A whistleblower has stepped forward with enlightening evidence that shows all three entities involved in the prosecution broke the law.

    From The Daily Caller

Weeks before U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro declared a mistrial of the case, a memo written by a BLM agent assigned to investigate the agency’s actions during the 2014 raid on the Bundy ranch was released. The memo contained serious allegations of misconduct and likely illegal activities by BLM officials and prosecutors, led by acting Nevada U.S. Attorney Steven Myhre, throughout the raid and trial of Cliven Bundy.

Myhre had removed the agent responsible for the memo, Larry Wooten, from his position investigating the BLM in February, confiscating all his records and data. Wooten wrote his 18 page memo from memory and leaked it the DOJ.

The DOJ investigation will be checking out Wooten’s memo and could end up bringing charges against those who broke the law during and after the raid. This is the second investigation against the Obama administration this week. The other investigation involves the Obama White House preventing the DEA and others from investigating Hezbollah, that were bringing in drugs and then laundering the money from the sales.
