In a startling turn of events at Highgrove House, eleven out of twelve royal gardeners have resigned, citing what they describe as untenable working conditions and inadequate pay. The remaining gardener remains onboard as the palace scrambles to address mounting staffing shortages in the esteemed royal gardens.

Workers have raised concerns that long hours, low wages, and increasing maintenance demands left them overwhelmed, prompting the wave of departures. The exodus comes at a challenging time, with Highgrove’s renowned horticultural displays requiring careful care and management.

Palace officials have confirmed they are beginning recruitment efforts to replenish the team, while also reviewing compensation and work schedules to prevent further disruptions. As the royal household seeks to restore stability in its gardens, questions loom over ongoing labor pressures in royal estates.
