Without a doubt, many in the South Eastern United States felt the effects of Hurricane Irma. A little more north of Florida, many folks lost power for quite some time.
Linemen had been busy working 12-hour shifts, some even working doubles, to try and restore power as quickly as possible.
One such lineman, Daniel, had stopped by Taco Bell for a quick bite after a 12-hour shift. During this time a random woman came up to him and yelled “You have time to eat, but not fix my power…You make me sick,” before pouring her soda on him.
I know it seems trivial to some but this is entirely uncalled for. These people, even Daniel, are working hard to get things right again after a storm knocked out power… something beyond their hands. And what did she expect? For workers like Daniel to work all day every day, with no sleep, until HER power is back on? Give me a freaking break!
Lots of support from the above post has poured in for Daniel, with one commenter stating, “There are sad and ugly people all over the world who can never be made happy. They should just crawl into a hole and revel in their misery. Daniel and those who work tirelessly to keep us safe should never be subjected to this kind of indignity. Thank you to all these men and women for what they do…”
As reported by 11Alive:
According to the lineman’s wife, her husband had just passed by a Taco Bell to grab lunch during his 12-hour shift when a woman allegedly dumped her drink on him.
11Alive spoke to the city manager and lineman’s wife who said the woman yelled “You have time to eat, but not fix my power…You make me sick,” before pouring the soda on him.
The man’s wife told 11Alive he was too shocked to do anything and just walked away.
Police told 11Alive there is not a security camera in the area where the incident happened, and the lineman did not know the woman, so they can’t file charges.
Despite that, the lineman is getting a lot of support online.
