Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican presidential contender, says it’s “perfectly fine” to make undergoing a sex change illegal for anyone under the age of 18.

On Sunday, Republican presidential candidate and professor Vivek Ramaswamy said that transgender ism is “making more gender dysphoria” and “confusion” among young people in the United States.

According to Ramaswamy, who spoke on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” youngsters who express thoughts like “I was born into the wrong body” or “my gender doesn’t match my biological sex” typically suffer from mental health problems.

Chuck Todd, a journalist, wanted to know if Ramaswamy had ever tried to get their (the parents of transgender children) side of the story.

In the words of Ramaswamy: “I have, in fact.” Having been in a similar situation, I can attest to how difficult it is. But it’s crucial that both sides be civil and not just look out for themselves.

He explained the change in attitude by saying, “We’ve made a culture where parents are taught that they’re being bigoted or bad people if they don’t take those steps.”One of my opinions is as follows: look, I get that gender dysphoria is a tough deal for the minority of individuals who experience it. Why are we making such an effort to increase supply? It’s certain that the changes in American culture and education are causing more people to confuse their gender. Do not make matters more complicated than they already are. Indeed, it is what we are now doing.

To test the Republican candidate’s commitment to the conservative philosophy of limiting the size and scope of government, Todd asked if limits on parents seeking sex-change surgery for their children ran contradictory to this principle.

According to Ramaswamy, no U.S. state permits citizens to buy cigarettes or have tattoos before the age of 18. A young person may come to deeply regret such a life-altering choice. So, in my opinion, if you’re over the age of 18, you have the right to do whatever you want. This is what it means to be a citizen of a free country. It’s only reasonable to say that no one under the age of 18 should have their genitalia cut or be chemically castrated with puberty blockers.

Upon hearing this, Todd questioned, “Are you sure that gender is as black and white as you say it is, or are you sure that it’s not a spectrum?”

The answer was “I am,” as stated by Ramaswamy.

“Gender dysphoria has been called a mental health disorder for most of our history and through the DSM-5,” he says, where “DSM-5” refers to the 2013 version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. I don’t think that’s that considerate of you to say. I think it’s evil to turn a blind eye to a youngster in need. They recommend that you do more research on the topics at home and in the classroom. Let’s treat each other with dignity and dig into this mystery instead of acting as if we’re disputing a century’s worth of medical expertise.

At 37 years old, Ramaswamy has already amassed a fortune from his contributions to the health and technology sectors. An unlikely politician, he wrote “Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America’s Social Justice Scam” and considers himself a “social justice warrior.”
