Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-lee Furness, have made public announcements of their decision to end their almost 30-year marriage. The couple has been married for over 30 years. They proceeded by saying, “The welfare of our family has always been and will continue to be our top priority.” We go forward with appreciation, love, and kindness in our hearts as we enter this new chapter. We ask that you please respect our need for privacy as our family works through this time of change in all of our lives. We are grateful for your understanding in this matter.
The pair made it quite clear that this statement would be the last public comment they would make about the issue.
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness have been together since 1995, and during that time they have welcomed two children into the world: Oscar, who is now 23 years old, and Ava, who is 18 years old. Deb, you are the bright spot in my day. “I love you with every single beat of my heart!”

It was in 1995 that the pair first met on the set of the Australian television series “Corelli.” Their love story began at that time. While Jackman was only beginning his career as an actor at the time, Furness was already a well-established celebrity in the industry. In an interview with People published in 2017, Jackman warmly recalled their first encounter together, stating, “Deb, she was a great celebrity…After being picked up, I notice that Deb is sitting in the driver’s seat of the car. I won’t ever forget it. She removed her sunglasses, extended her hand, turned around, and introduced herself as Deborra-lee Furness before taking off her seatbelt. “Hello, my name is Deborra-lee Furness, it’s nice to meet you,” she remarked.
