A 29-year-old Minnesota man, Tyler Maxon Avalos, was arrested on October 16 after allegedly posting a TikTok video offering $45,000 to kill U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. Documents from federal agents say the video showed Bondi wearing a red sniper-scope dot and was captioned “WANTED: Pam Bondi / REWARD: 45,000 ‘DEAD OR ALIVE (PREFERABLY DEAD).’” Investigators state Avalos used the handle “Wacko” and promoted anarchist literature online.
Court filings indicate Avalos has a criminal past entailing stalking in Minnesota (2022) and domestic battery in Florida (2016). Federal prosecutors have charged him with interstate transmission of a threat to injure another person. He remains in custody pending a December court appearance.
Federal officials emphasized that the case stemmed from an early tip to the FBI, which identified the social-media post and triggered the investigation. The arrest highlights growing concerns over online platforms being used to solicit real-world violence and the intersections of domestic extremism and digital communication.
